Abstract:

The main goal of this work was an attempt to find and implement a real world application of Microsoft Kinect for Windows in real-time control environment. The result is an application running on a Microsoft Windows based personal computer (PC) communicating with MATLAB/Simulink via serial port. Which allows to control a miniature tower crane with the help of Kinect interaction. This human machine interface must be simple to use and understand, fast to set up, and easily used with other machinery and/or without the use of MATLAB/Simulink.
