Abstract: 

This thesis presents to the reader a development of a temperature monitoring system on a microcomputer named „Raspberry Pi“, that recently came onto the market. The user is presented with an introduction of Raspberry Pi and its capabilities. During the development process the user will be presented with software developement principles and prototypes, which help facilitate the application development process by making the part of writing software requirements easier. During the completion of the software the user is presented with the development phase, the software structure and its implementation. In addition to this the user will be presented with an introduction to the software’s graphical user interface. At the end of the paper some guidelines of where to go next are outlined.
